The Chicago Women of Color Puppetry and Performing Arts Fringe Festival 2025
The Chicago Women of Color Puppetry and Performing Arts Fringe Festival 2025 is in our first year, founded by Jacqueline Wade, Executive Producer. The festival runs from Mon, January 20 to Sunday March 16, 2025. The festival focuses on the works of artists who create works about biodiversity, activism, human rights, oppression, race, racism, genocide, gender, LGBQT, being a woman, being BIPOC, current events, prison industrial complex, social justice issues, consciousness, spirituality, mental health, trauma, Black futurism, fantasy, empowerment, history and much more.
We also encourage artists to bring old and new works including works-in-progress that have been rehearsed. We welcome everyone. We also give opportunities to all people, especially underserved communities of BIPOC individuals and Women of Color. This is a festival that is on the edge of the mainstream. We also give voice to the voiceless. We are an alternative to traditional festivals. We also welcome experimental works. It is a festival that is open access and gives opportunities. It is high energy with independent artists. The fringe festival is also very supportive of artists that challenge the audience and themselves in creating works that make positive change. The festival is also about community and mentorship. People of all ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations and abilities come together to celebrate puppetry, performing arts and film.
